Search Follow-up

know, I either don't post or I post two in a row... I just checked my stats and there were a few things I need to give input on.

I get the most searches finding me by 'monkey curtains' - I made them myself, I bought the end of the bolt of discontinued monkey toile but if you want directions on curtains let me know

I also get a scary amount of searches finding me by 'sick cat' or 'sick kitty' - my cat likes to eat bad things and it gets stuck in their stomachs/intestines blocking the way for normal food to pass. Step one, force feed the cat keopectate - available in any pet store usually sold as hairball medicine. Anyway it is in a tube and the primary ingredients are Petroleum and Malt. The thing that solved my cats most recent problem was undoing the string that was under his tongue (and had been there for days creating the problem) - once it was unhooked it took two days for it to come out the other end but if it hadn't come out after 2 days he would have needed surgery. **I'm not giving professional vet advice just passing on info that helped me** I also fed the cat tuna mixed with pedialite, that usually stayed down and hydrated him. Bottom line, when you cat acts sick get him checked out because they probably are sick, and if you sew, check for the string under the tongue.

Last - I get a bunch of searches for 'planting raspberry bushes' or 'planting pine trees' - for the record, both are still alive and the raspberry bush has lots of leaves but I don't suggest my method so if you find my site from that the entry is humorous but not really a good guide for tree planting. Check out HGTV.com of DIY.com for real info.

I also think it is fun to see all the countries that search and find me - Hi to all

Is it Monday or Tuesday?

Mood:good
Weather: sunny!

yesterday felt so like Sunday that today should be Monday, but fortunately it is Tuesday so closer to another weekend. I have tons to do at work but it is back to a pretty even pace so lunch today I got to catch up on all the people I read and have a little time leftover to post. Today it is actually going to hit 80 degrees out and it isn't raining so I might be able to power wash stuff (still have to call home depot for details on that). I did not get very far on my window boxes, purchased supplies and thats about it. I am hoping my neighbor will let me use his table saw to cut all my pieces of wood because a circular saw is not making very straight lines.

Comments for people who read;

Gone South - congratulations on your baby bird!
8K - where are you???
Dad - can you mail the wedding albums back to me? I keep forgetting to ask when I call - Lars' parents will be here in late June and will want to see them.

Weekend

Mood: fine
Weather: actually stopped raining!

Yesterday Lars went to an event and I stayed home since it was primarily a fighting event, it was drizzly, and I'm still not in the mood to talk about crown politely in public. So I did more plans for my windowboxes, I have the plans pretty set now, and I unpacked all the remaining boxes in the lower level. I also did 4 loads of laundry and put away everything except socks and underwear because I still have to fold them. It was a nice quiet day, I wish I got more done but I got more done then if I had gone to the event.

Today was a good friends little girls birthday party. We have a string of friends kids birthday parties in the summer, hopefully when we have kids they will come to our parties. By then all their kids will be older but I'm sure it will work out. Anyway, there was a pony ride referred to as 'the surprise' because if it rained it would be canceled and it was easier for it to be a surprise then not happen and be a disappointment. It almost didn't happen anyway because the horse girl got lost and was an hour late but the kids love it and I got a ride too. The pony didn't mind at all, I guess her weight limit is pretty high. The Mom of the day rode too but no other adults. Another friend with an 8 month old put the baby on the horse and all she wanted to do was eat the saddle and they walked around a little circle. After the party we went to IKEA to buy 2 more chairs and a patio table, it was fairly easy until we saw the table didn't fit in the truck so we had to tie the gate down. Having the back gate open all the way home is really loud but we made it fine. We will hopefully powerwash and repaint the deck next weekend and be able to use it a bunch this year.

week in review

Mood: good
Weather: raining, still, and might forever

So Dad wonders where I have been... I haven't posted in a week. The biggest reason that I haven't posted is that I have had lunch meetings or gone out to lunch almost every day and that's when I usually post. I'm actually meeting Lars for lunch today so this one will be relatively short.

Last weekend was busy, Sat morning early I went to help a friend move and it was alternating raining or super hot/sunny so it was an interesting move but went very quickly and on schedule. I had to leave to get to a friends kids birthday party and I when I left only left a few things were still in the truck and she had 4 other people. So the birthday party was at a farm that had tons of animals including peacocks (that displayed for us) and llamas and highland cattle. They also had baby goats and sheep and bunnies and kittens so it was a hit with the kids and I had fun too. The party part was sorta lame, the mom that was in charge is not party planning savvy but in the end there was cake and presents and we left and went to lunch **note to party planning moms, if you plan you party 45 min from civilization to start at 1 and end at 3 people may want food... to avoid feeding people have the party start at 3!**

Sunday I was looking forward to going to the flea market in Hinckley and it ended up being really small and full of dollar store junk, not worth the time. We went to the casino down the road and I won 115 dollars at the first slot machine I tried in the first 5min I was there. Lars wanted to play Texas Poker so he was going to stay a few hours so I cashed in my money, played about $20 on misc fun looking slots for about an hour and went to the car to read my book. It was a decent book and I finished it and went in to find Lars who was up about $30 total and we went home. Decently fun afternoon but I'm still in need of patio furniture.

Over the week I got asked to do a few important projects, plus my normal work, I ended up really busy. On Tuesday I went to the Kholes 30-70% off sale with a friend and we shopped until 9 at night (went at 5) I was getting light headed by the end, all the shopping and no eating :) Wednesday was clogging, I missed last week because of work but we were learning a new song so I caught up pretty quickly. Our class is an odd mix of real beginners and people who must be retaking the class because they know more then normal, and absolute experts because their class is after ours so they jump in on the songs they like but they don't do just the basic steps, they do all sorts of fancy extra stuff that gets confusing to watch. I just signed up for the second 10 half where the same group just keeps going with beginners 2 and next fall we all graduate to the advanced class.

Yesterday Lars and I shopped for another kids party this weekend and looked at the flowers and supplies at home depot, I hope to build my flower boxes this weekend.

Other then that, it has been an uneventful week.

Tired Tuesday

Mood: tired
Weather: rainy - will be all week

Two days into our training week and I am learning alot about our product but it sure is tiring. I was here at 6 am this morning and I didn't leave yesterday until 8. It is only one week so it should not be a problem. I am behind again in cleaning since the weekend and not having a normal schedule but hopefully tonight I can catch up, I don't know how Lars creates so much laundry~ crow*n is still on our minds, wondering if it is worth doing next time or not.
This weekend I am helping a friend move and if it is a nice weekend I want to see about renting a power washer to wash the deck so it can be painted. Next weekend I want to hit the flea market (just opened in May) to see if I can find any decent patio furniture. We just got a BBQ so soon we will be set.

Not the princess

Mood: fine
Weather: getting sunny again

First things first, Mr Pink is 100% better. The string has come out the other end and he is acting his normal self.

Second, Crown, bottom line is Lars did not win. I have strong feelings about the the person who won but since this is a public site I won't talk much about my feelings on that. The day was very hard, my stomach was in knots for alot of it but Lars was the most chivalrous there. He gave point to many of the fighters and that impressed the crowd and crown.

Other then right after, we are both fine with the outcome, we had a great steak dinner offsite with a bunch of friends. We spent the night to relax and got home noon the next day. We found a kid yesterday that for $25 mowed and edged our entire yard and is willing to do it all summer. I talked to lots of people on the phone all were complementary about Lars and said that there is always next time and that is true.

Suicidal Mr Pink uses 2nd life of 9

Mood: not so bad
Weather: raining, again, damn grass is going to grow more

The suicidal Mr. Pink may be recovering. After a suggestion from my long distance vet we checked under his tongue and the thread was stuck under there. That procedure was pretty gross and reaffirmed my decision not to go into veterinary medicine. We even have a well behaved cat who lets me cut his nails and has suffered through yucky smelling medicine being shoved in his mouth but having his tongue healed out was too much for him. Anyway, he is looking more normal and walking around he just has to poop out the string in the next day or he has to go to the hospital.

Last night I super cleaned to make sure there was no thread around to eat and to clean the smell of cat puke/tuna/medicine out of the house. Lars even pitched in, I think he just was trying not to get steamrolled or have me get mad because he wasn't helping so he volunteered to do kitty litter, his computer area and vacuumed the upstairs. He also got puke clean up duty and that earns major points. Mr. Pink likes to walk while puking, I don't know why, but we have been taking turns scrubbing carpet and floors. As a result, the house is reasonably clean and tidy and that is nice all on it's own.

I didn't manage to do any project work for crown but I did start assembling stuff to pack and since I cleaned yesterday today I can glue my book together tonight.

everyone cross fingers for a swift string elimination so we can go to crown with peace of mind....

Gilmore Girls

Ok, I have a habit now of thinking of something else after I already published. Did anyone else see Gilmore Girls last night? That was a really great episode... I still think she is having a baby. So who is getting married? I'm betting on Rory but I can't wait until next week to find out. I really don't get so into TV usually but this show is my main TV at the moment. We TiVoed Scrubs, it was the finally so we will watch it tonight. Last thing, I am making my first crock pot meal, I put it on at lunch and I'm hoping for the best. I cheated and used the crock pot helper (everything in a bag) but if anyone has recipe ideas let me know. I think Wednesdays are a good crock pot night because I have Tuesday night pretty free to make the stuff and Wed Lars and I both have after work activities and come home starving.

Sick Kitty worries

Mood: anxious
Weather: gray and 60's but they predict a sunny weekend

Well my big news is that my cat Mr. Pink is sick but I didn't want to post about it until I talked to my Dad (the vet) before he read about it. The cat has done this before, ate something that creates a blockage and then he is miserable because nothing is going through him. I got him the finest in kitty laxative and we are forcing him to eat it (and he really hates it). He looks like he is hung over, all scruffy and glassy eyed and he doesn't like moving. The hangover look is not helped by the fact that he chooses to curl up under the toilet by preference. The sick cat may come with us this weekend if he isn't better by Friday because I would not like to come home to a dead cat. In slightly better news, I finished all the sewing and I'm almost done with the other projects for the bag. I still need to make cookies on Thursday night and pack but if cookies don't get made it isn't a big deal. Tonight I hope to finish projects and clean and maybe start packing so that Thursday I can bake and relax. 3 and a half more days before I know if we are the next prince and princess of Northshield.

Interesting stats

I know, two posts in one day! Well my routine is that after I post I take a look through my visitor log just to see what sort of traffic I get. I get a kick out of the keyword searches that result in one of my pages. Here are a few interesting ones; Plant dermatitis, Heather wedding favors, monkey curtains, and my number one keyword search; Cyber World group. My name gets searched every so often but that really isn't an interesting stat at all.

As for visitors,

GoneSouth is my most loyal person I don't know but recognize the address
my parents are daily visitors
8K is my most loyal non family person, I know you are bored 8k, I'll try writing more interesting stuff
I also have fairly frequent hits from Josh, Jen, and Karen -

other then those 7 people there are 10 semi frequent IP address that I would love to know who you are so e-mail me or leave a comment.

So to my audience of approximately 17 people, have a great week

Monday again

Mood: good
Weather: very rainy

Another Monday Update~

Happy Mothers day to my mom and sister. I talked to Mom yesterday and sent a card and since I'm not a mom that was the end of my mothers day activities. This weekend I kicked into 'get ready for crown' gear. I have one week, less now that it is Monday, to get everything ready. I am thinking of asking for a half day on Friday just so we won't be rushed getting to the event. I shopped for fabric with a friend on Sat and started a new dress and underdress and got mostly done with both. Hopefully tonight I can finish the detail work and get Lars' tunic too - all his needs is a fix. I have finished the larger part of the project for crown entry, I still need to finish the booklet I'm planning and bake cookies. I keep remembering things I want to add to my packing list and e-mailling my home address with one word messages. So in one week I will know if I have every weekend for a year planned for me or if I retain freedom ;) Can you tell this is all that is on my mind? I actually am doing other things. I am still working with the roofer - his crew of Mexicans dropped shingles (with nails) on our hot tub and in my opinion they are responsible for it. It has a dent and is slowly filling with water so it is shot. I'll work it out eventually. I am also contemplating buying a mower, our lawn is starting to be wild kingdom like and no neighborhood kid has put up lawn work flyers or anything. Oh, for the record, the raspberry bushes have lots of leaves on them so they are alive, and the displaced tree still appears green and springy so I think it is alive too. Ok, enough updating, if I keep going I will degenerate into a list of things to do and pack this week.

still have a cold

Mood: cold like (but better then yesterday)
Weather: very nice, sunny and 65

I have nothing of interest to post. I still have a cold and it isn't fun. I am trying to figure out what to wear next weekend~ Tonight I have dance so that will be fun.

Big long update - hope you have 10min

Mood:fair - trying to kick a cold
Weather: miserable, it is trying to snow and it is April

So I haven't posted in a week... What has happened that is of note;

Beverly's visit - very fun, we trekked all over including the Mall of America, the Grand Casino, various places to eat etc. Bev had quite a habit of cooking and doing dishes, not a problem for me, she can visit any time.

First week at my new location; Monday and Tuesday were so hectic that I was busy non stop. The were demanding their boxes back by the end of Tuesday so I dumped all my stuff on my new super size desk. Wednesday and Thursday were no better, I've been deep in a few projects that were time sensitive so it was an all hands on deck. By Friday there was a respite so I took a little time to 'move in' and I am organized and I have a clean desk. The coolest thing so far about the new space is the cube design. We get 'accessory' wall space where different types of organizers hang. The whole building looks awesome and streamlined but I can't help thinking that in 30 years we will look at it like it is a relic. I am at the end of a row so good thing I'm social because everyone says hi as they walk by. I also get to serve as floor watcher, I'm semi expected to know where the 5 people in the row behind me are (since they have to pass me to get out). The design is very low, most of the walls are about 4ft tall so I can stand up and see half the office. I am now close enough to home that I could go home for lunch but haven't had time yet, maybe this week. My commute now is apx 15min - must be my karma from commuting an hour each way to Chaska.

Home-front; I have done nothing more then basic housekeeping for over a week. This weekend I just didn't feel up to speed, either allergies or a cold but I keep getting it so I'm thinking allergies. Lars and I played X-box for hours on Sat and we watched 'Erased' the movie about the woman who had her kid erased from the world. it was good but had an anticlimactic ending. Lars and I did get out to the mall to see my Dance teacher and his competition team perform. They are awesome but I can never be on a competition team; half because it is alot of weekend work that I don't have time for with the SCA and more importantly they wear shiny ruffely bright blue (with sequins) outfits that make figure skaters costumes look like normal street wear. I'll just keep taking the class because it is a fun and social thing to do.

SCA; I need to finish my crown project and make a dress - crown is next weekend. If Lars wins we will be busy people for a year but it will be a fun busy. I finished the 'Who's Who' - fundraiser for crown that has all the combatants and consorts and a blurb about them. This year I was inspired to write limericks for everyone. It actually went really fast except for the 2 couples that I didn't know at all. I'll have to make it a point to meet them I suppose. I always get nervous that someone will be offended by the booklet but so far only good reactions. it also gives me something to do other then being nervous for the night before and the morning (I sell them for a dollar).

Future stuff; I'm starting round two of home improvement. Top of the list is the built in shelves I want in the downstairs room. Might happen before July but if not I might be able to talk dad into helping ;). May is a busy month, this weekend is an event in WI that I probably won't go to so I can sew (but Lars will go). Weekend after is Crown, weekend after that we are helping a friend move and possibly doing a friends son's birthday party plus Lars may go to an even on the other side of the earth (Mt Rushmore SD). Weekend after is a local event and a good friends little girls birthday and thats all of May. I want to wait til after crown to make more future plans.

ok that is tons for today. Oh, I would also like to note that donuts are tasty but eating donut plus lunch plus rice crispy treat makes me sick.
