post inverview

Well I got up early, got all dressed, got to the interview almost an hour early so I read the paper and waited. I interviewed with 5 people (1 was on vacation) so only3 hours and it was informative and I think I did well. The bad news is that they already offered one of the positions, one is too technical for me, and one is more or less 'below' the level I want to be at (both salary and responsibility) so there is really only one job I could do. I am one of 2 they are considering for it so I suppose I have a 50/50 chance but I really don't know. They want to get this position hired and started very quickly so hopefully I hear on Tuesday.

My goal for today is to unpack and organize more. Goals for the weekend include finishing the bedroom floor, painting the bedroom closet, and finish moving out (cleaning etc) of the old apartment.

I'm a little drained from the experience, keep fingers crossed for me.

Need good thoughts

Mood: Getting sleepy
Weather: 50 degrees... Hell must be rising

Ok, I fled from work at approximately 4:30pm and new boss (new to me, not the company, old boss has been at his new job since Tuesday) asks me questions every 30 min and is mildly upset that I work 4 10 hour days and I won't be there tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the interview. I need positive thoughts coming my way. I need to impress 6 different people over 4 hours. The positive side to a 4 hour 6 person interview is that they can't possibly have many so hopefully I've made the first cut. They also have 4 positions open so if I can't get ONE of them I have issues. I will not be the be the last mouse on the sinking ship. Did I mention work is practically empty? They laid off soooo many people it is crazy but we all knew it was happening.

Well shout out to 8K , way to be. I read a few blogs, they are fun and I like the variety of it all. Someone I read fairly often tried to comment on the tsunami... I can't really say much either, no way to envision that many dead people and I don't want to think about it happening here. The irony in MN is that the story was sandwitched between the college women's basketball team story and the wacko who shot 5 people a few weeks ago.

Extra statement on the weather, it really is 50 degrees here - record high. It hasn't been that warm here since September and it is a little crazy. Last week was negative numbers, lets not question the weather.

I have finally begun the wedding picture scanning project, I have half of one book done so 1/6 done.

Ok, I need to go to bed so I don't look like an old bag when I interview~

Bored at work

Mood: listless
Weather: foggy

So I've done alot today but I really want to leave. They laid off a ton of people yesterday so it is a tad empty here now. I did a bunch of little projects then started my own projects. Learned a bit about powertranes - the field I'm interviewing for - and reviewed the education standard for k-3 for a friend who was wondering about it. I also found 2 decent sources of matboard for my mom and picked a ton of pictures I like for the house (none really match) from My plan for art is to change it seasonally but I don't know if that will work. For example, winter theme pictures are very stark and white and I like them but they will not make the room cheerful - I can look outside if I want snow. Technically there isn't any snow at the moment but my point is valid.

Anyway, I seem to have become Ms. Answer for the group, everyone is asking me all sorts of questions including what toner goes in what machine. I have no clue~ I am also being asked about credit terms, vendor history, part conversion, high level accounting stuff, how to use messenger, how to add a printer to a machine and (this is my favorite) where the forklift is. How do you loose the forklift? And why would I know where it is? Look around people, it's not in my 10x10 cube. I mostly make up intelligent sounding answers so that probably why people keep asking me stuff. Either that or the fact that I'm STILL here, there were 30 something people in this area 2 months ago - by next week there will only be 8, including temps.

Soooo, I am thinking of reasonable reasons to leave early. The weather is actually ok, rainy but above freezing so no ice. I could use the 'it will freeze when it gets dark' line... I want to start scanning wedding pictures into the computer and I can't do that here. I think I'll hang out for another hour, clear up any problems that come my way, and head out about 3:30 ish. We will see if that works.

I just ate week old popcorn

Mood: normal
Weather: frosty

To explain the title... We have a popcorn machine at work, a big one, and occasionally they make popcorn. Well my lunch today was unsatisfying and about 45 min ago I smell popcorn so I finish the invoice I was working and go on down. I went to the machine, got some, and was leaving when Leone (the lady who usually makes the popcorn) walked in so I said thanks etc for making the popcorn and she said she didn't make it. So she looks at the machine and declared it was from last week and someone must have just made microwave popcorn. I tasted the week old stuff and it seemed fine so I ate it :)

I have to also note the frosty weather. It is actually pretty warm out, around 40, but the trees and bushes are all still below freezing and moisture in the air is freezing on the bushes and trees. It looks very cool like there is frosting on everything. I'm sure it won't last long but I get a good view of a tree out my window (I'm at tree top height).

Job news, well, I'm scheduled for a 4 HOUR interview on Friday from 8am until noon. I better get this job! I think I'm meeting with half the company but at least I get a tour. It's a snow mobile company and at the moment the site is 25 min away but they are moving in the next few months to the town directly north of me. I would love to have a 10 min commute - hey, I would love a half hour commute. The hour in the car can be use for books on tape or keeping up with the mundane trivia that DJs feel compelled to expound on but I think I can find something to do with that time!

Ok, books, I'm still plodding through 'The beautiful Visit' and it is interesting and dull at the same time. They ruthlessly killed off a character - it is WWI era and the main character fell instantly in love with a boy she knew when she was younger when he was home on leave. He really was a great character and they have a perfect little relationship in the 3 days he has leave and then he goes back to the front. This is basically the only interesting thing happening in about 100 pages so you expect some pineing and an eventual reunion - nope - she misses him and waits for a letter and gets one about a week later and so she basks in the glow for a couple days and writes him back only to casually flip though the paper and see that he is on the list of dead from a week ago. So he died the day he mailed the letter! Aside from being really sad it was pretty mean of the author to kill of the first good thing in 100 pages. Very rude. I read 'A Farewell to Arms' by Hemingway a few moths ago and it has the same sort of problem. Everything was fine then boom, kill of a few people and not make any big deal about it. I looked up the study guides to farewell to Arms and they claim Hemingway used rain as a device to show that bad things is absolutely random. I tend to agree but he really wrote a sad and unsatisfying book on the theme.

I'm also reading (and almost done) the Key books by Nora Roberts. They are shameless semi-romance books but they have an interesting mystical side. I do recommend these ones as an easy read so I won't give plot spoiling details...

Ok, I must resolve more invoice issues before I can go home. I don't understand why it is so hard to ship what is on an order and for receiving to check it in...

Hello Mom!

Mood: fine
Weather: dark

My title is for Mom who I hope can make blogger work for her. Today was run of the mill average for work. Lars stayed home yesterday to insure we actually got internet, phone and TV out of the liars at Quest. It took a while on the phone with customer service to make the internet actually work but now it does.

Good news for the job front. The interview seemed to go well. The company is looking for 4 buyers but I don't fit the criteria for any of them perfectly - rather I have elements of all 4 but none dead on. Hopefully they like me and hire me and I can run away from here... They want a second interview for Friday - need to unpack the suit.

Check out the link, it is very funny even if slightly unseasonal. We still have our sad tree up and I'm going to leave it up for a while because I think it is sad when people rip down every shred of Christmas the day after it is done. Our block looks like a dead tree farm because they are all on the curb already.

Yesterday I stopped at the apt and took another load, only one good trip left and I still need to fill in holes and vacuum. Maybe Friday, Lars has off and we can do it together. I want to disassemble the fake fireplace I made and take it home so I can practice routering on it. I got a huge set from my parents for birthchristmas and I need to practice so I don't mess up good wood. If all goes well I want to make a kitty condo out of the extra wood and carpet we ripped out of the bedroom. The flooring for the bedroom should be at the house today - tomorrow at the latest, it had a long drive from FL to get here.

ok, I've spent enough time at work today. Nobody really knows if I'm over here or not because I'm the last one on this side of the building (Phil is actually still employed here but on vacation). I just feel a little guilty leaving too early. Also, if I leave too early, I end up sitting in the worst of the traffic.

Finally, back from radio silence

Mood: pleasant
Weather: dawn, and it's almost 10am

So, number one, Qwest lied and we did not get internet or phone on Friday. I feel like an addict with withdrawal after almost a week without internet access. Anyway, back at work and super busy but I need to post for my own mental health.

Update on goals... Since I had 2 extra days, bedroom is painted 100%, tape removed, carpet and carpet pad removed, and ready for flooring. Computer room is 99.99% painted (somehow missed a corner in the dark) and we have our desks arranged so once we get internet we are ready for business. LR/DR wall is done, furniture still isn't in final locations but more or less ok. We spent alot of time unpacking, cleaning, arranging, and painting and it is looking alot like a house now. I'm missing one kitchen box that has the good knives and the dishdrainer and I have now clue where it could be.

Christmas was melo, we ended up with a fake tree because we waited too long to go looking for a real one. Note for next year, get tree 3 days or more before Christmas. It looks pretty anyway, we found all our ornaments and load enough pretty things onto an ugly $11 walmart tree and it equals out to 'nice'. I think everyone liked our presents, Lars' brothers family disappointed us yet again by opening their gifts as soon as they arrived about 2 weeks ago. Next year I'm mailing them late, this is the 2nd time this happened so I'm mailing on dec 26th next year. Lars liked what I got him and I liked what he got me :) We found all the gifts that were packed and gave them all out in good order. Dinner was delicious, Jen made a great bird, we made potatoes and the trifle went over well.

We also met the neighbors over the last 4 days. They seem nice and friendly and we went over to play cards last night. Jury is out still but better then having mean or nasty people across the street.

Time to go acquire my bosses work- I'm not getting it all but a good chunk. I really hope my interview goes well tomorrow!!! I need a new job, closer to home, with an actual future.

Google doesn't love me

nope, you can't find this through google.

BTW rude boss is still on the phone, meeting is now 20min late

Kate MacMenamin - google - rude bosses

Just want to see if I can google myself.... When I do it now all you get are race times from running XC at Cabrini. I'm also killing time before a meeting that was supposed to be at 1:30 but some people don't now the definition of being on time for meetings.... My current (soon to be former) boss has horrible people skills. As in, when you are in his office, at his request for something, he will answer both office phones and his cell phone and he NEVER says 'Sorry, I was waiting for that' or apologize for his rudeness at all. He also constantly postpones meetings, I may as well figure that we might meet anywhere form 10min later to a week later for any given meeting. It is good for the universe that he is not going to be a manager at his next job, he doesn't value people and I'm glad I am patient or I would have joined the ranks of people who can't stand him. He really is a good and smart person, just no social knowledge or value of other peoples time. I bet that during this meeting - whenever it finally starts - he will answer the phone at least 3 times. The subject of this meeting is dividing his duties to the 'team'.... I am the only one left on the team so I feel it may dump on me. Pray for a new job, happy thoughts.

House, day 4

Mood: optimistic - have tomorrow off
Weather: sunny and it has warmed up to -3
Favorite: thought; one person is a repeat visitor to this site. Special Hi to you!

Ok, yesterday was like a marathon. I am going through some internet, TV and phone withdrawal since I can only check mail and use the phone at work until Friday and no TV until Monday. I'm not counting down to Christmas, I'm counting down to TV! Yesterday I got stuck in 2 hours of traffic because of snow on the way to work and I was determined to leave at 3 so I worked like a loon and didn't have much time to breath. After work I had 1 hour to hit Target to finish Christmas shopping for Lars then I had a good bye party for a friend. I got some good deals at Target, may want to fill in with the dollar store for stocking stuffers, but that is actually dependednt on being able to find the stockings.

Packing (unpacking) update- We have the majority of the boxes at the new house, maybe 1 more load in the suv and car will finish the job (being optimistic, might take 2 more) and we have all the kitchen in order. To give us some peace of mind, last night Lars and I arranged the living room area so it isn't a blob of furniture standing in the middle. None of the stuff matches and only 2 pieces of furniture in the room belong there but we can't put the dressers away until the bedroom is done. It is much nicer visually to have a room up there and I can still paint the back wall - needs a second, hopefully final, coat.

We picked a nice dark red for the back wall of the kitchen, I think it will look great with the light yellow and blond wood. You won't see too much red because the cabinets dominate that wall but that means less to paint. When I'm done I need to take pictures, I have 'befores' already, just waiting for home internet to post. I need to think of another color for the other 2 walls of the living room. It's not a rush but I would like to do it sooner rather then later.

Adventures in home ownership continue, we had to buy a shovel yesterday since it snowed. The garage door still thinks the ground is an object and opens up randomly. Today I think it was the snow that triggered the sensor but it is still annoying. We successful did a load of laundry without flooding the floor - always a perk. The stove, oven, and fridge all seem to work but we haven't tested the dishwasher yet.

Tomorrow and Friday I'm off from work so no update until Friday night so these are my plans for the next two days; Finish painting the bedroom (hoping to start tonight), second coat on the livingroom, get green paint of the correct color for the computer room, price wood for wanes-coating, wrap presents, possibly paint the computer room, remove bedroom carpet, trash removal and clean the apt, Christmas tree?, unpack enough to find the Christmas presents for our friends.

Those are enough goals for now

Last for this post - work update. Nobody new has quit but I might get my bosses stuff dumped on me. I really don't have time for his work and mine... I have an interview on Tuesday that hopefully goes well. The CC facility that is 'closing' isn't actually closing but they are transferring about 85% of the work out and in my opinion that causes more work then just moving everything since I have to worry about what is staying or going.

ok, back to the salt mine

Short post

Mood: busy
Weather: warmer then before

Well, I'm super busy and I can't steal any work time to write today and I don't get internet til Friday! In general, things are going better - big smile

House problems... but good overall

Mood: tired and a headache
Weather: super duper cold and icy

Ok, I don't like to complain but this house thing is almost funny so many things went wrong.... Lets start with Saturday, painting day; My painting help bailed (but made up for it the next day) so on my birthday I shopped the Home Depot and got all the painting stuff one would ever need. Prepped and was just about done when Lars, Ray and Josh arrived to help. We got underway late and there were numerous complainers about fumes and color and having to lift their arms but a coat of paint got on all the walls we needed. I missed a few spots because after a while I was painting in the dark - no lights in the living room! So another coat will happen soon.

Moving day, I need to do this in list for so we can count the comedy;

1. Our apt building had a fire alarm at 9am meaning we had to catch the freeked out cats and exit the building. We went to get the truck and wondered the whole time if we would have anything to pack or would it burn... Turned out nothing serious, just annoying time waster.

2 and 3. sub zero weather did not improve the mood of our friends and definitely impaired there special relations skills resulting in a truck that did not fufull it's highest level of packing perfection. Nothing broke but a butt load didn't fit. We will be shuttling all week in regular cars

4. Pipes froze - no water

5. Pipes unfroze but now one is split, fortunately it had a valve right above so it's not too much of a problem

6. had to run the water for a min in all appliances, including the washer. The washer apparently does not shut off when full and flooded the basement, we noticed fairly quickly, only about an inch of standing water. Lars and I used every towel in the house to clean up....

7. Garage door does not stay shut. It closes then automatically opens again. We spent 25 min clearing every possible obstacle but in the end it considered the ground the obstacle so we had to adjust the setting for where the 'ground' is. This morning, it was off again and refused to stay closed AGAIN, Lars had to reset it after I left and it is currently about a foot off the ground just to be mostly closed.

8. Our cats hate us and are scared of the new house. Mr Pink, who hides alot, wedged himself between the wall and the stairs under the stairs in a crawl space. We only found him because I crawled under the house to see if he fell into the well and I saw his tail. He had been hiding for at least an hour sitting in a puddle... poor kitty. Hopefully he will be less stressed out tonight after a day exploring. Jingles (other cat) is fine and loves the house.

So that is the saga, hopefully nothing else goes wrong! We dealt with everything with as little fuss as possible and Lars and I make a good team when the going gets rough. Oh, there is also a porch light that we can't figure out how to turn off... that bothers Lars way more then me so I'm not counting it.

Last... we can't get phone or internet in the house until Friday and no TV until the following Monday, all Blogging and E-mail will have to be done at work.

I will follow that rant with the statement that I really really really do like the house, it's big and pretty, and ours. We had lots of help from all our friends and I could not have done it alone.

My Birthday!

Mood: good but busy, got alot to do today
Weather: looks clear

Closing went well, we have a house! We even got a little money from the sellers~ The gave us 4500 for closing and it ended up being less. We didn't get a chance to buy paint so I'm off to do that now, then tape, then paint then clean up... Hopefully get it done today but if we don't the world won't end. What a way to bring in my 25th year! Maybe it means I'll have a productive year :)

Off I go!

Night time finally

Mood: good
Weather: cold, going to get colder this weekend
Favorite: honey head

Busy busy day, skipping work yesterday made today very full. I got home and my wedding pictures arrived! I love them they really are great. I need to post them, that can be a project after we move. Tomorrow is closing, I have from morning to 3 pm to finish packing and start cleaning. We also need to get paint... I have a feeling it will be a hectic weekend.

I should pack more BUT I have 2 new books that just arrived. Two cents on but 7 dollars shipping, I still think its a good deal. I also watched the 2 hour finally of the apprentice. I'm a sucker for shows like that, I just like the politics. I am very happy with the final decision but I feel a tiny bit bad for Jen because nobody stood up for her in the end. I would have fired her ages ago but she did an ok job in the end. Trump wants good tv so some of his decisions were nutty but only one can win.

Time to do a little more - I think I'll set the timer for an hour, then read, then sleep.

Mood: just fine
Weather: not too cold and sunny
Favorite: appliance - the George Forman Grill

I played hokey from work today. Yesterday 3 people, including my direct supervisor, gave notice so it will be a very empty office after Christmas. I kept myself up for hours worrying about missing today but I really had alot to get done and eventhough it is only Wednesday, I needed a break. So, I have packed and I will continue packing. Lars is moving stuff down into the garage to try and make space. Things take up alot of room when they are all stacked together.

I took advantage of the weather and ran outside. I probably did about 2 miles but I kept getting a cramp so I don't feel 100% exercised but I don't want to do any more. I listen to my book on tape while I run (and clean) sort of like a treat but this book is not improving much. I can't give up on it though so I will listen while I pack and feel like I am reading rather then working.

back to work~

very tired

Mood: super tired
Weather: colder then yesterday, 8 degrees

Last night I had good intentions to exercise but I just felt rotten so I took a nap. There isn't alot of time between when I get home (6-6:30) and when I go to bed (10:30-11) but I got a few more boxes packed even with the nap. There is still soooo much to do, everytime I think I'm getting somewhere I find more stuff to either pack, wrap, mail, call about, track down, or clean. Hopefully work is inspiring today so I don't fall asleep at my desk.

Book news - I finished Steven Kings short story pertaining to the Dark Tower, Everythings Eventual. I love when authors interrelate the characters and books so you feel like there is a little bit more of the book you liked out there. I am also listening/reading (book on tape) a slightly odd book basically following the life of a fairly self centered and silly girl growing up during the beginning of WWI. The interesting parts of the book are how life and visiting was like then. People would go visit for 3 weeks or send children to visit an aunt for a summer. I don't think that is too common anymore. I keep wanting to drop in on friends in the area and I always chicken out because I don't want to come unannounced or put them on the spot. Oh well, something to think about.... Once we move further north I will be alot closer to most of my MN friends so maybe dropping by will happen someday. I know I would like people to just come over but that's just me.

Ok, this woke me up some. Have a good day

Too many Treats!

Mood: over full
Weather: sunny

Ok, as a buyer, there is a 'perk' around holidays that vendors will give the group some sort of sweet. As an unwritten rule, the treats all go on a table by the copy area so every time I print or copy I am very tempted. I have been bad and eaten 3 cookies and 2 pieces of chocolate. I'm trying to avoid the area but I know this is just the start...

I am trying to track down rouge Christmas gifts, they are somewhere in shipping land and since I need to reship the majority out to family members in NY I need them now. I'm good at waiting on hold, it's part of my regular job so I can do it for myself too.

I owe exercise to myself, hopefully I'll get time tonight and I can find floor space. I will be very happy to move so I can start unpacking. Only a few days left to closing, I will have my first married Christmas in my first house :)

Monday Morning

Mood: ok
Weather: sunny but super cold - 14degrees
Favorite: time of day, 5, so I can go home (8h to go)

I did not want to get up and my alarm got integrated into my dream so I was 10 min behind. Nobody really notices because everyone is leaving! I just found out my favorite vendor contact is being moved because so much of our business is moving. One more person gone that made the day good. Hopefully Jen can get me in at her place, cross fingers, I need a more stable environment!

Since last night I have packed nothing but Lars is home all day so I have some hope he might get something done. I suppose I don't mind too much if he doesn't, packing really isn't something he likes to do therefore he will not be good at it.

Well, time to work some more

End of the weekend already

Mood: very awake for 10pm
Weather: still windy, you should see the lawn ornaments
Favorite: candy, mint kit kats

I did the final walk through for the house, everything was basically the same. The nice previous owners have left the curtains and stuff - not great ones - but hey, we won't flash the neighbors. Lars and I did make it to the Home Depot and picked colors pretty quickly, now we need to figure out how much we need and purchase it. Only 3 rooms really so we won't need a ton but it is still more paint then I've ever purchased before. I'm glad Lars and I agreed so fast, it's nice when things are simple sometimes.

Packing status at around 80%. I have all the hanging stuff done but nothing from the dressers. The mother load of boxes is already depleted, hopefully Lars can get more tomorrow. Liquor store boxes are such a good size, you can pack a good amount of stuff without making it to heavy.

As for the blog learning curve, I have figured out how to add stuff to the page. We can now view today in history and a link to the comic of the day and a nifty counter too, all curtsey of I will now see if anyone ever reads this since visitors will be counted.

Well since I feel I packed enough today I am now going to mess around with games~

Good Morning

Mood: Stalling because I don't want to start packing again
Weather: very very windy
Favorite: Pilates tape - Winsor 20 min

Ok, Yesterday we hit the mother load of boxes. We went to 2 liquor stores and got as many as would fit in the car so I'm ready to pack again. I was noticing that I fill all boxes with max capacity so the big ones are pretty heavy. Lars and I went out on a date more or less yesterday. Or friend Josh is dating a very nice person Karen and we seem to be the designated going-out-with-company and I like it, it's like mini dates for us with none of the dating stress. We went to see Blade 3 - I give it a solid 3 on scale of 1-100. I actually was expecting very little so I was pleasantly surprised. You have to laugh at the silly stuff, like TripleH running, but overall, if you are a vamp purest, you will hate it. There was however a 4 year old next to us (with two parental adult like people) but I can't believe she was there. Very violent and tons of bad language. I'm pretty sure most of the inuniendo went over her head but I hope she doesn't have nightmares. Oh well, at least she was good, it's impressive that she sat through the whole thing and was reasonably quiet. Anyway, I don't judge, they probably had a good reason for being there, maybe her dads in the movie, who knows....

So after the movie, Josh got to go 'meet the parents' while Lars and I procured tons of boxes then we met up for dinner at Famous Daves. For all the East coasters, this is the BEST place for ribs and someday they will make it out there too. After dinner I meant to pack but Lars had to go to work at 2 am so we went to lie down and boom, now it's morning. Coincidently, Lars just called, it is 10 am and he is still there. He reports that he ate a little bag of cheezeits. He may be home in an hour but then he will be asleep so I will amuse myself until 4pm probably.

I have a final walk through of the house, I need to make a list of dementions so I can calculate paint....
I must also exercise... I've wimped out the past 2 days and I can feel it in my energy.

Made a Template... Hope it works

Mood: Good for Morning
Weather: Gray, I feel it might snow
Favorite: book at the moment - Stephen Kings gunslinger, last book

Ok, just wanted to see if that works, I'm betting it does. It will make quick work of the semi dull stuff like my mood and the fabo weather conditions of MN.

Hate the Social security office - Love Oceans 12

So I got married last month (a whole MONTH ago!) and I know I need to do paperwork to change my name. Get the form, spend my Friday off last week waiting in line to get a number, to wait until number was called, to go up to the desk and show all my stuff and then they said they didn't need my form and I was done. Not bad? Well there was one annoying fat guy who kept talking to everyone. He asked what I was reading and I said romance novel, and he said he hated them, so I said good for you... So basically the fat lonely guy was the only trouble of the day. Last night, opening mail, I get my new social security card! I have officially changed my name from MacMenamin to...... MacMenamin! Sadly, they did nothing other then reprint my card. I called and yelled and got nowhere. I wrote a letter to the governor of MN and a staffer already wrote back saying they will see what they can do. I don't have alot of hope but at this point I don't have time to get to the office again before Jan sometime. So that's why I hate the SS department, they have stolen a day from me and made it hard for me to sign legal documents.

Since I was in a rage, and Lars sweetie head isn't always sure how to deal with me in that state was hiding on the computer playing WoW (I might start playing after Christmas). So I semi snappily ask if he was going to play all night and he sorta snapped back that I wasn't to pleasant to be around. I left and went to pack more and he got the hint and came and cuddled me. So we watched Hollywood E news since nothing better is on Friday night and they reviewed Oceans 12. I said lets go, he said when, I said right now (country song anyone?) and we went. We loved it! It had some improbable moments but all round fun and funny and beautiful. You can't go wrong with that set of stars but the settings in Italy and Amsterdam held their own with the beautiful people. I highly recommend the move, it is even ok for a smart kid, no sex and no cursing.

Ok, just finished my breakfast - waffles with bananas. I usually eat 3 plain waffles but the bananas were on their last day so I cut one up and added it. Now I know that 1 waffle = 1 banana cause I really can't finish the last one.

Back to Christmas packing, I need to get these in the mail today!

Cyber World Group sucks

Well, for the past 2 months Cyber World Group has been calling me and nobody is ever on the line, my caller ID says this has happed about 60 times in 3 weeks. Anyway, today I finally got fed up and tracked these people down. Not easy, they are actually Canadian but once I found them and got a little loud at them, they went and fixed it. Apparently our number was stuck in the automatic redial system.... it better be fixed. It was just the last straw but now it done!

In other news, I am 100% done with Christmas for other people! I still need to do a bit more on Lars but all our friends and family are done. BTW, Jo-Anns is having massive sales - 60% and more - off all their holiday stuff and they have a nice collection this year. I love the awesome little boxes, I picked up two for just-in-case presents and if they aren't needed they are mine! I probably will need them though… Christmas will be very strange here in MN without any family (other then Lars) but change is ok and we will have time to settle into the house and maybe do a project or two.
Time to go wrap so I can hopefully get all this stuff out to the mail tomorrow. My goal was today but you know how battling a telemarketing company can eat up your day.

End of my week!

The work week is the easy part... now it is time for weekend tasks! Christmas and moving, my world is full of boxes. I'm 90% done with the shopping, really only have Lars to go and he has a few little things to open.

goals for the weekend;

drag Lars to the Home Despot to pick out colors and buy paint
buy flooring (on sale!
pack everything on my desk except computer
pack all misc clothing
mail package to Mom and Lars' mom

good luck to me...

Why are mortgage people so fussy! I keep asking what they need and they don't tell me until it is too late.... I'm going to start counting, I have had 3 conversations so far about the exact same thing.
I have been inspired by Beanmom to create my own little space. I have a ton going on right now yet oddly open days. My job is on the dull side, I have to be here if something happens but most of the daily work is done pretty quickly. I just got married and my husband and I are buying a house next week. Ironically, on my birthday so he will probably never top this present. It is pretty nice though, it will be easy to remember how long we have been in the house. I usually figure out dates and time-lines in relation to a set thing in my life and then I can get the year from that.

Today so far is normal, we are having a good bye party for 2 people at work (2 people I like!) so it's a little depressing but they are both going to better jobs. The place I work is having issues, they are consolidating business so that may mean closing this location, it may not. This week they say we are here for about another year but who knows. Anyway, I'm looking for the next job step - something in project management or planning - I'm currently in purchasing and ready to move up a little. I don't want to be doing the same thing forever but I can't really change either because all my experience is in one area.

Ok, I'll try to limit my posts or I'll just chatter on forever.
